This week in school . . .

It's TAKS week, which is so not cool since we're only taking one TAKS and the rest is just benchmarks that we could totally do in a regular class period. Today's a regular day, but I can tell you that we'll be doing nothing in class since it is TAKS week. But I can't stay home! My parents let me stay home on regular days where we're actually doing something, but not today! My dad has work off today so they've got plans, but I'd be perfectly fine just laying in bed all day. I could just hang out outside and practice rifle and flag. Or, you know, actually do my homework. GASP!

NaNo and other News

National Novel Writing Month started today! I am gonna do it this year, unlike last year where I failed miserably. I'm gonna write a 50,000 word novel before midnight on November 30th! so far I have just over 3,000 words so I am almost a day ahead of schedule. That'll give me enough leeway in case I have a lot of homework tomorrow. In other news:

-Tomorrow is Isaac's 12th birthday. Happy B-Day Isaac! (Oh my gosh I just realized that he can go to mutual now . . .)

-I'm in Concert Band 2. :( But that's okay I guess.

-We're going to at least one playoff game in Houston. Fun . . ./!

Alright, I'm gonna work on updating this more often. Now I've got to go take a shower and draw some pictures and find my biology workbook and Madeleine's phone number!

First Football Game!

so . . . yeah! marching band is awesome and we got all of the opener on the field for the first game! come watch us this week @ dragon stadium on friday!

are these pants not GORGEOUS???? chloe introduced me to delia's and when we went in, i fell in love. there was a bunch of really really really cool shirts and stuff, but i saw these and i died! now i actually have enough money to buy these (w/ the $10 coupon i have) and i won't have to keep battling it out with my mom on fb (although she doesn't really know what we're arguing about. she thinks it's over this cool pair of shoes from journeys that i showed her.)

Guess WHAAAAAAT??? i got another beatles book! but this is the best one so far!!! it's a book of the beatles: anthology and it just has quotes from john, paul, george, ringo, brian, neil, mal, and derek!!!!!!!!!! it weighs over 10 pounds probably and its AH-MAZING . . .

next, i'm very sad cuz media converter isn't working and it's KILLING me, not being able to have please please me or september on there!!!!!!!!!!!

today i went to the mall with chloe. best time EVER! i was her personal fashion engineer and i helped her pick out the most gorgeous pair of jeans . . . PLUS i also got . . . (wait for it . . . WAIT FOR IT . . . ) . . . . . . . . . . . . . BLACK JELLY GLADIATOR SANDALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i've been looking for a pair for forever!!!

madeleine's gone. i haven't cried yet, but then again, i haven't gone to a church activity w/o her yet. but that will change cuz the sleepover is tonight! YAY/cry . . . !!!

band camp is good, but a cymbal player collapsed yesterday. that was REALLY scary.

I KNOW IT'S KINDA LONG BUT PLEASE READ: (real title) What to do?

so i don't know what to do, cuz i'm still in utah and everyone is still gone and i won't be having my tea party until tonight and:

- i could watch help! and a hard day's night again, but i'm kinda tired of just staring at the computer + i want to watch them w/ someone who hasn't seen them

- i've caught up on phineas and ferb

- i could work on the script for kick it! but it's not as fun all by myself

- i could practice my euph part for marching band on a pencil but . . .

- i could take a shower and do my hair and makeup and stuff, but then i would feel like i'm only doing it so i could have something to do and i don't like feeling like that

- i could read, and maybe i will, but not for long cuz i feel restless

- there's a lot more i could say, but i know that nobody reads the long posts so that's it i guess . . .

so tonight we're gonna have a harry potter movie marathon and my dad was talking to my mom and i "so rudely" interrupted and this is how it went:

Dad: We're gonna have a Harry Potter marathon tonight!
Mom: Oh, really?
Dad: Yeah. It'll take us about 10 hours if we start now.
Me: Well ya know, it would still take 10 hours whether you started it now or not.
Dad: That was profound . . .

yeah, i know you guys don't like to read long posts, but too bad. so i'm in utah, visiting the fam, but right now i'm kinda sad cuz nolle and taylr and morris are at girls camp and dani is in new mexico and i'm not going to cassie's until tomorrow. btw, morris borris is simply amazing (i'll have to do a separate post on him sometime soon). but even w/ all my peeps gone, i still could have survived IF i still had that beatles book! i went to the library w/ nolle and i got "the beatles: a biography" by bob spitz and it's almost 1000 pages long and i'm in love with it! but since we're leaving like on wednesday and cliss had to go to girl's camp, she took it home w/ her yesterday! :( :( :( :( :( i was only in january 1964 (somewhere between pages 350-400) and brian had just booked them for the ed sullivan show and capitol was just releasing a meager 5,000 copies of "i wanna hold your hand" in the states!!!!!!!!!! they were about to make it big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well, they were big . . . but even BIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( moving on . . . . . . . .

girl's camp was way fun! chloe and abby came and it was amazing! i know i had loads of fun and i know we're all gonna miss madeleine next year. :'( but she loves us more than rootbeer floats so i guess i can live w/ her gone at byu. but me and chloe and maddie and maddy and rileigh pulled an all nighter (well, rileigh ALMOST made it, so i think it counts) and i have learned the valuable lesson: sleep is good. but chloe and abby got lice and i feel AWFUL! i'm so sorry guys!!! <3

eep! i'm like FREAKING OUT cuz band camp starts in ONE WEEK!!! i'm gonna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm also freaking out bc i'm really scared that my packages i ordered are gonna get stolen or something. i ordered a beatles cartoon tshirt, a ys poster, and 4 beatles buttons and they were scheduled to come while we were in utah but i'm really really really scared that someone just saw a package sitting on the doorstep for days and took it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but i went to the mall and bought normal stuff! (aren'tya proud?) i got two polos from aero, a GINORMOUS purse and earrings from anchor blue, and this really awesome shirt from this store called papaya. also i went to the DI and got some awesome jeans and a shirt w/ a porcupine on it that says "can't touch this"! (hee hee)

alright. i can't think of anything else to say so i'm gonna watch the phineas and ferb episodes i missed . . .

yay! i'm like SOOOOOOO happy right now! cuz like a) i finally got my hard day's night dvd! it was starting to worry me cuz it was supposed to come on july 8, 2009 but instead it came on july 9, 2009 and so yesterday i was REALLY worried cuz i had even worn my "all you need is love" shirt even though it's long sleeved so that the movie would know that it was going to a good home where it would be loved and cherished and screamed over, so it would come faster but that didn't work. :( so todaaaaaay i b) wore cassandra's old beatles shirt that she gave to me yesterday!!! thank you again cassandra!!!!!! i love it!!!!!

in non beatles news: i'm gonna watch charade tonight!!! :D

Oh gosh . . .

okay, seriously, i need to get with some band buddies ASAP!!! i was practicing piano today and i was not having fun and i was like, hmm, i'm an ensemble person really. so i got on the computer and listened to our summer dances and loch lomond cuz i wanted something to do besides piano. and i was like, THIS CLOSE to crying! i couldn't stop thinking about sandra doing her solo (she sounded much better than the official recording) and shanti overcoming that high note and mikeska and conner doin vibes (it was mikeska and conner right?) and the clarinets bulldozing their way through 171 in summer dances and all the euphonium-clarinet matchy matchy and those high g's that i cried over and that awful drone beneath those beautiful solos and mr. piwetz's face during loch lomond . . . SERIOUSLY. i need to see some of my clarinet buddies before i have a nervous breakdown and start adding drum beats to my piano book and learning the exact notes and rhythms for lead, bass, rhythm, drums, etc. on EVERY beatles song just for the sake of ensemblyness!!!!!!!!

Hello

Hey, i know i haven't posted really at all lately. that's most probably cuz i do most stuff on facebook now, but still. i shouldn't have been neglectful. so i'm just gonna talk.

- BIG NEWS: if you didn't already know, i'm kinda obsessing over the beatles right now. i guess it first started in february when my mom bought the dvd yellow submarine and i watched it like everyday for weeks. then that just lead to listening to our albums for the first time really since 6th grade (or more like when i was 4) which lead to doing school projects on them so i could learn stuff which led to finding out about the cartoon series which led to their other movies (i watched help! twice a day for a week) which led to abby burning like 5 of their albums for me and hapa buying me the most amazing book about each and every one of their songs (a hard day's write!!!!!!!!) and so yeah. don't let me forget to order my cartoon lunchbox and ys playing cards asap.

-ALSO BIG NEWS: we finished Deep! that's mine and preethi and val's story that we were working on at school that's totally nonsensical and kinda tells the story of our second semester if you look deep enough. (oh my gosh, did you see that preethi?) gasp! i'm freaking out cuz we're calling it "Deep" cuz it's the shallowest book ever and has no deeper meaning but now it kinda does! eep! idk if that's good or bad . . . but right now we're (well, it's my time right now, but i'm kinda right here . . . ) editing. after that, as a joke, we're gonna send it off to all the publishing companies there are out there and see a) how many rejection letters we get and b) if we actually get accepted (which would be absolutely hilarious!)

-school's out. i'm in high school now. yikes.

-we got a new puppy! we haven't decided on a name yet, but i think we're leaning towards either penny or abbey. she's part black lab and part something else and her ears are so cute cuz one stands up straight and the other flops over all cute like!

-i was a student conductor at the last concert! and yeah, i know that like everyone knows that, but oh well. that was fun. speaking of which, i'm gonna go back to cvms every once in awhile during the summer to visit the band directors. anyone wanna come with me?

-um . . . beatles rock band is coming out. it looks pretty darn amazing if you ask me. i want it. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

there's probably other stuff i'm forgetting (like youth conference, which was really fun!) but i should get back to editing so val can edit and so preethi doesn't kill me. aren't we a great team?

Happy Medium

today was a happy medium type of day. i almost cried during band cuz i realized that it was the last time that we would ever play those songs in the band hall. after tomorrow, nothin'. no more "summer dances" or "loch lomond." and no more "trombone king." they're the next "moscow, 1941. " i swore that i would always remember it bc it was such an amazing song. now i can barely remember anything besides the name. but lunch was good. chloe and abby and sophia are all dying to come to girls camp. but i got a 66 on my math test WITH extra credit. and i got 2 A's and 5 B's on my progress report. but i had a really fun time waiting for a ride w/ sophia and chloe. then i got home and made cake. but i'm SOOOOOO cold right now, but the fan makes me not feel lonely. shoot! i have vocab!!! but i have the new jason mraz cd to listen to. you see what i mean? major happy medium . . . OH YEAH! my birthday's in a week! *hint hint* i've been wanting pins, itunes gift cards, and jelly gladiator sandals EVER SO BADLY . . . *wink wink*
